Barbara Boxer is the only Senator with the balls to stand up and say that something was wrong with the 2004 election. I'm glad someone did this time, but I'm pissed that the Democrats didn't and don't ever stick together and do the right thing.

Maybe my view is naive and simplistic, but it seems like certain things are more important than whether you're going to be called cry-babys by the Republicans. Anyway, today we learned that torture (Alberto G's hearing) and election fraud (electoral vote certification) aren't important enough issues to democrats to warrant much more than a couple peeps before giving in. Wouldn't want to do anything to possibily anger any republicans, that's for sure.

John Kerry was out of the fucking country today! He couldn't even do one very small brave thing for his supporters when his last chance came.

I'd switch back to the Green Party today if it weren't for the fact that those people make me even more crazy. ARRRRG.

  R.I.P. Bob Matsui. I never met him, and I guess he wasn't real popular with the real progressive crowd in Sac, but he seemed a decent enough guy and it's sad that he died. If you don't know the details, here you go.

The real reason for my post is that I wanted to direct your attention to the comments on the story on Yahoo News. I don't know what sort of things I'd post if Tom Delay were to die, but I'm pretty sure it won't be as sensitive and pure (not to mention as heterosexual) as this post:

  Happy Blue Year!

BuyBlue.org has a petition (Blue Year Resolution!) for you to sign saying that you will support local businesses (but not the liquor store with the "Viva Bush" and "No French Wine" signs in the window) and business that support progressive causes. Go sign it!
