Scam Alert!- The Progressive Pages

I consider it a duty to notify other progressives when I fell that when others are using the name of progressive or liberal for what was not its intended purpose.

I am referring to a new progressive directory that has been well advertised, on Democratic Underground and in a new Economic activism section and at Smirking Chimp

The Progressive pages are at http://www.globalblogs.com/progressivepages/index.html they invite all liberals and progressives and Democrats to send the websites that they feel people should shop at rather then the Republicans and they will then list it in the database.

So I signed up my blog and my store that has progressive products at http://www.americansupermart.com and http://netvillagemall.mall.com but they did not define the listing right, and I noticed that they have no email address.

Well then I get flamed by some on the DU board then right after the flame they start a thread and announce they are the editors of the new progressive page.

So, I asked them could I revise my listing and they said you insult us and Hmmm! What is that smell around here?

And they also said your blog and store is not progressive enough.

Then the DU'rs said and Smirking Chimp said:

How dare you write and article about a blog and a store that is not progressive enough?

If I had been a Jew in Greece and progressive was replaced with the word Jew that would be the anti-Semitic hate speech that Greek politicians say every day.

I did find it sort of Odd that Indymedia is around the only sites listed on Alexa that linked to the Progressive pages and Indymedia is known to be a
rabid anti-Semitic organization.

Then on the Ban list they have for a Republican owned business they then define as progressive any business that gives 55% or more to the Dems regardless if they have socially responsible products or services.

In my view this database is just going to give the Republicans reasons to call us racists and hate-mongers and flip floppers, as well as just cause problems for progressive owners of a business.

To say the least I was forced to renounce my membership to Democratic Underground because of this and hours and hours of work were down the drain for possible sales I could of received for my progressive store.

They also say that a store that sells environmentally safe cleaning supplies and natural soaps for humans and natural soaps for pets is a totally out of line
website to be listed in a Progressive economic activism forum because it is not progressive enough.

I checked the products that they say is the only websites to shop at to be considered Progressive and they sell the same products that we have. And we have
much better services for other co-op partners in cooperation. In fact millions of affiliates have partnered with our cooperative and we have been rated #1 in reviews.


They ask for a $150 fee to join as a partner in cooperation at Coop America my progressive new co-op
cooperative free to join.

Philip Shore is lying about the Progressive Pages. He has made it his duty to follow behind us anywhere we advertise and badmouth us because we asked him to provide more information about his company.

We asked him questions, because of his low post count, and attempted to find out what the progressive nature of his business was, since we were unfamiliar with it. He became irritated that we wanted more information. He began flaming our group, saying that what we wanted to do was impossible unless we followed his suggestions.

He CHOSE to renounce his DU membership. He also CHOSE to go to the Smirking Chimp Website (with another low post count) and badmouth us, and now he is doing the same thing here. He does not choose to go to a progressive Website and make some friends before trying to drum up business. He simply says, "Here, buy my products," and expects people to do it, no questions asked. He also does not like the fact that we rate businesses, and are calling out conservative businesses for their policies.

You have to wonder about a guy who has to stalk folks over the internet to prove a point. Sad, really. And not very progressive.
 

Well, as the editor and owner of Motelmag.com (which you should both check out the rest of), I say that anything that helps people to make informed decisions about where they spend their money is a good thing and I'm 100% behind these progressive pages (and I listed my business there).
