This seems to happen every year...

Once again, I have seen none of the movies nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award -- which, for the record, are Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Crash, Good Night, and Good Luck, and Munich. The only two I even want to see are Brokeback Mountain and Capote -- and maybe Good Night, and Good Luck. But I haven't seen them yet at least partly because they seem like such downers, which certainly does seem to be the theme in this year's crop of BP noms.

I did, however, see Walk the Line, which is not nominated for BP, but has some noms in other categories.

Actually, it looks like Walk the Line is the only movie I've seen that's nominated for anything ... oh except Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which is nominated for Achievement in makeup (and that was some killer makeup, wasn't it, folks?).

Here's the big list. How many have you seen?

PS - Searching for "oscar" on google images results in some interesting finds.

Comments:
Wait. Didn't you see Batman Begins? Because that was the best movie of the year.

Maya apparently hasn't seen Crash. It's a great movie, though it ain't a laugh riot, that's for sure.

We watched Girl With a Pearl Earring recently, and we've seriously considered taking a screen grab from the movie and printing it on a t-shirt to give to Margaret. So much open-mouthed blankness...
