I'm not sure when we'll ever post the story of our trip to Iceland, but I wanted to recount one golden moment.

On our trip to see the Golden Circle sites, when we were at Thingvellir, the guide told me that they had tried to start a "cemetary for Iceland's most famous sons and daughters" there. But, he said, it had been a failure.

After a few moments of silence, I asked why.

He looked at me almost as if I should understand, and then said "It's just not an Icelandic thing. People weren't into it."

Here's a picture of me and the guide! He was very cute.
