It's a bit late, but I just found this: Alex Majoli's photos from the Republican convention at Magnum (he has more on the site, but I think this group is stronger). You can buy prints of the photos there. Click and enjoy!
Majoli's images, I think, very nicely use the extreme high contrast to depict the black and white ideas on parade at the convention -- no shades of grey there. I particularly liked the image of blurry Bush himself, along with the pictures of the priest and Reagan from the video feed, for the extra distortions there, that exaggerate even the already crazy distortions of the other pictures. Reagan and the priest look like General Zod & Co. in Superman II. Bush is fuzzy and ill-defined. And angry. I think it's particularly interesting Majoli's subjects in this exhibition are so often minorities here, along with a cowboy and a cop. It's like some crazy stereotyped version of America!
